Communities as Drivers : At Sunrise Rural Development Society (SRDS), we believe that every individual, no matter how marginalized or economically disadvantaged, has the potential to lead their own development. We see communities not as beneficiaries, but as active drivers of change. When people are organized, informed, and empowered, they are capable of transforming their own lives and building resilient communities.

Women at the Center : We believe that empowering women is central to sustainable and inclusive development. Through Self Help Groups (SHGs) and collective institutions, women gain access to finance, build leadership skills and actively participate in decision-making processes at the household and community levels.

Professionals as Catalysts : We believe that skilled and empathetic professionals play a critical role in enabling change at the grassroots level. Our approach is not to deliver solutions, but to enable communities to develop their own solutions. SRDS works closely with communities to:

  • Build capacities and skills.
  • Promote sustainable livelihoods.
  • Facilitate access to information, resources, and opportunities.

Building Self-Reliance : We focus on promoting self-reliance rather than dependency. When people gain confidence and ownership, they are better able to assert their rights and shape their future. We support communities to:

  • Develop livelihood opportunities and enterprises.
  • Access government schemes and financial services.
  • Strengthen institutions like SHGs and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

Partnership for Impact : We believe that strong partnerships are essential for achieving sustainable and scalable impact. Through these partnerships, we enable communities to access training, technology, financial services and market opportunities, ensuring long-term and sustainable development outcomes. SRDS collaborates with key institutions such as:

  • NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development)
  • MPSRLM (Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission)
